Institute of Registered Veterinary & Animal Physiotherapists – irvap.org.uk
IRVAP is a Professional Association representing a dynamic community of qualified professionals and is now the largest in the UK representing animal musculoskeletal therapists, including veterinary physiotherapists, animal therapists, manual therapists, canine and equine hydrotherapists.
This “not for profit” organisation is fully committed to actively investing in both it’s growing membership and the animal therapy industry, by offering an amazing annual Conference open to all. Ticket sales are heavily discounted and last year the IRVAP Conference sold out tickets in 3 weeks.
IRVAP is dedicated to raising standards and advancing animal therapy, which encompasses providing an inclusive conference with heavily discounted fees for its members and the industry.
This year the 2024 IRVAP Conference is on Friday 11th October 2024, held at the Leonardo Hotel Hinckley Island, Watling Street, Burbage, Hinckley LE10 3JA, Leicestershire, UK.
It aims to be another brilliant experience to share ideas and network, with a fantastic line up of speakers and industry leaders. This day offers attendees a certificate of 8 CPD hours plus a fantastic forum to have informative conversations and explore solutions for clinical practice.
I am honoured to be a part of the IRVAP Council and grateful to work with the dynamic team of individuals who make up the Council and ICH and IEH Boards. They are all voluntary and unpaid, fitting this around their own businesses and personal life. as a positive and friendly team, together they make a real difference in promoting a culture of collaboration, to deliver an exceptional service for members.
IRVAP promotes safe and effective practice in all aspects of animal therapy and members hold a shared belief that every animal deserves the best available treatment and that their owners are fully supported and informed. IRVAP’s diverse membership is its strength, with different categories including a free student membership category. This is part of IRVAP’s long term commitment to education and it’s member’s successful career development.
IRVAP actively supports and collaborates with professional bodies that lobby for regulation in the animal therapy industry. The current lack of regulation makes it a challenging task for referring vets, insurers and the public to identify safe and ethical practitioners.
IRVAP celebrates its diversity, upholds animal-focused ethics and is committed to providing inclusive opportunities to progress and advance member’s skills and expertise. It provides free CPD for its members on the IRVAP Members Only website, up to date resources and offers an outstanding Mentor and Support service.
The IRVAP 2024 Conference is fast approaching and is now a significant annual event in the industry. IRVAP values and listens to it’s growing membership, leading to a more developed 2024 Conference programme to fulfil their professional needs.
